Ever since high school I have known how to use the Internet. No one has taught me, I have learned through experience.
I am actually very excited about this course because I imagine there are so many different opportunities on the Internet that I do not exercise.
Throughout this program many of the subjects we have been taught have been redundant or composed of information I have previously learned through experience and external programs. However, I have never learned anything regarding this area before. I am intrigued to learn something totally new. I expect that I will learn how to utilize the Internet better and to my advantage.

I am a 4th year student at George Brown College for Hospitality Operations Management.
When I started my studies in 2004, I also started a new job. I was working at a fine dining restaurant in Unionville, Ontario and I quickly came to realize food and beverage was my passion. However, in the summer of 2006 I was given the unique opportunity to work at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta. This was an offer I could not refuse. For the four months of summer I served large conventions, tour groups, and weddings five days a week, twelve hours a day. I loved the mountains but my job was extremely demanding. At the end of the summer I had to return home to continue my degree, where I was then hired as the Head Server of a new upscale pub opening in my home town. Prior to my employment, I had thought that the Artisan Pubhouse was a living representation of my dream. For the past year, I have learned a great deal about the operations of a new establishment, and about myself. Though my dream is to own and operate a restaurant one day, I realize I am passionate about "FINE" dining specifically. I enjoy working with high standards, and maintaining advanced quality serving, and food.
Currently, I am working for a company called Toronto Tours (http://www.torontotours.com/). I am stationed at the Delta Chelsea, concierge/ sales desk. I enjoy my job because it allows me to stay current within the industry. I learn about new restaurants and styles of food everyday. Though I realize my heart lies in another part of the industry, I feel this is a great opportunity to learn about the city of Toronto before I take it 'head on'!

You will also learn that much of what you already have learned can be applied directly to e-marketing.
